Mechanical distorters continued

After I wrote my last post, I learned about Gunnhildur Einarsdóttir, a doctoral student at Sibelius Academy experimenting with all kinds of materials on harp strings. Some very nice sound samples and videos about the prepared harp can be found at her webpage.

I am particularly inspired by the use of honey spoons between the strings. You can create a very nice tremolo by hitting between two honey spoons with mallet.

  1. Hi Love your blog. Just found it. I would have found it sooner if you had tagged it with the word kantele. I look forward to seeing, hearing and reading more about your playing, experiments and any resources you know of that are in English. Thanks, Judy
